Classmates,
The North Allegheny Class of 1963 Reunion Committee invites you to celebrate with them the 45 years which have passed
since our graduation. We have planned a series of exciting opportunities for
you to reconnect with our classmates, trace the history of Pittsburgh and its sports teams, and experience once again the
thrill and agony of attending North Allegheny High School.
The party begins on Friday evening, September 26, 2008 at Kaya in Pittsburgh’s famous Strip District. Kaya is a small Caribbean style restaurant and bar which was voted “Best Ambience” and “Best
Appetizers” in Pittsburgh. Its food is unique to all of Pittsburgh. Among its many attributes is a collection of 20 draft beers from all over the world
and 20 different kinds of rum and tequila. It is a great place to greet old friends,
put faces and names together and share memories of teachers, teams and high school high jinks.
On Saturday we have planned a tour of the Pittsburgh History Center and Sports Museum as well as the old high school. Recall what you were doing when Bill Mazeroski hit his home run and relive the teenage
romance of Camelot. Were you really hypnotized?
Squeezed between these two doses of nostalgia on Saturday is lunch on the upper deck of Magoo’s restaurant (formerly
Baldini’s).
Finally, on Saturday evening, we have a special dinner planned at the Fox Chapel Racquet Club with plenty of “oldies,”
a California wine tasting, some inspired games and even a little dancing. Come
in casual clothes and plan to have a drink under the stars while you find out what your friends have been doing for the last
45 years, and taste the cuisine of our caterer, Simple Elegance.
For out-of-towners, we recommend you stay at either the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Pittsburgh or the Marriott
Courtyard Downtown Pittsburgh. They are within walking distance of each other,
Kaya and the History Center. The Fox Chapel Racquet Club is only twenty minutes away. Those of you who live in Pittsburgh may also want to consider staying in one of these hotels on Friday
to avoid driving after a night of partying. Make your room reservations early
as rooms in these hotels are limited.
Enclosed is a detailed schedule for the Reunion weekend with times, place, website
addresses (which include directions) and telephone numbers for all events.
Also enclosed is an RSVP card for you to return with your check to Larry Demase to reserve your spot and to cover the
cost of dinner on Saturday. Please return it to him no later than August 1, 2008. Please also check out the Alumni News link in North Allegheny
Reunion’s website (www.nareunion.com/1963.html) for updated information on the Reunion.
